Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum is one of the big three museums in South Kensington. The museum is housed in a beautiful Victorian. The Natural History Museum is free to enter and is world famous for its dinosaur skeletons.

As you enter The Central Hall of the Museum you will see the Romanesque interior including the glass and iron ceiling structure which was purposely left exposed by architect Alfred Waterhouse to display the beauty of the building materials.

Opening Hours:

Monday - Sunday 10am - 5.50pm

The musuem is open everyday except when it closes for its Christmas annual break from 24th - 26th December.

Fishing at the Poles

During the heroic age of exploration, many ships set off for the Arctic and the Antarctic, where they collected natural history specimens that have since been brought to the Museum. Join us as we take a look at fish specimens collected in the last 250 years by some of these famous expeditions, including those of the Erebus, Endeavour, Terra Nova and Discovery.
